We&#8217;re talking Apple style secrecy.<\/p>\n<p>About a week ago they finally <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sun.com\/storage\/disk_systems\/unified_storage\/\" target=\"_blank\">launched product<\/a>.\u00a0 Another cool bit of news is that there is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sun.com\/storage\/disk_systems\/unified_storage\/resources.jsp\" target=\"_blank\">vmware &#8216;simulator&#8217; version<\/a> available for download. cool.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;fishworks&#8221; project was rumoured to be Sun&#8217;s NetApp killer NAS appliance, based on ZFS and solaris with a nice GUI.\u00a0 This turned out to be bang on.\u00a0 The GUI must have been what took the most time and effort, it looks slick.\u00a0 NetApp have done bugger all with their GUI. It&#8217;s in freefall. Lets hope this new stuff isnt too little too late.<\/p>\n<p>UPDATE2: it was.
